Arcus hosts virtual tour of the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm

Arcus hosted an event with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) on Wednesday 30th August in our Glasgow office. Kelsie Braidwood and Kirsty McGuigan took their guests on a virtual site visit of the onshore transmission works for the Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm. They described the process by which Arcus has helped  Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) avoid and minimise the environmental effects associated with the construction works.

Making use of the interactive ArcGIS Story Map, Kirsty demonstrated the spatial constraints encountered from the landfall at Portgordon, along the 18.5 km cable route, and finally at the substation at Blackhillock. She highlighted how careful planning and collaborative working, with both the contractor and statutory consultees, has allowed the project to progress in a timely manner.
