Arcus has recently submitted the Section 36 application for Corriegarth 2 Wind Farm, located approximately 15 km north-east of Fort Augustus, Scottish Highlands.
The proposed Corriegarth 2 extends the existing operational Corriegarth Wind Farm, which comprises of 20 turbines with a tip height of 120 m, and has been operational since 2017.
If consented, Corriegarth 2 Wind Farm will comprise of 16 turbines with a tip height of up to 149.9 m. On behalf of BayWa R.E. U.K. & Ireland, we managed the EIA and undertook the role of principal designer. In addition, our team carried out a number of technical assessments, including ecology, noise, hydrology, geology, transport and cultural heritage, amongst others.
The extension has been carefully designed to make use of existing infrastructure (such as existing access tracks) to minimise the footprint of the Proposed Development, and in-turn minimise environmental impact. This included embedded design and mitigation measures to protect and enhance onsite peatlands which will contribute to helping Scotland achieve its Net Zero commitments.
