Scope – A DMRB screening assessment was carried out to assess the impact of a proposed industrial estate development, for use as a haulage depot, on existing receptors and future residential receptors proposed in the Local Plan. The site was located in close proximity to the M1 and a significant A road junction, and as a result of the nature of the Development, an assessment of likely air quality impacts was required. The assessment demonstrated that air quality (NO2 and PM10) complied with air quality objectives, detailed modelling was not required and that poor air quality was not an obstacle to the proposed development. The assessment was carried out to the satisfaction of the Environmental Health Officer; the application is still under consideration.
