Scope – Assessment of the air quality impacts of a proposed mixed use development on existing receptors and future residential receptors proposed as part of the development. The site was located in close proximity to an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) but generated minimal traffic. The assessment undertaken was threefold:
- A DMRB screening assessment of vehicle emissions;
- A demolition and construction dust risk assessment, in accordance with the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) guidance and supplementary planning guidance; and
- Air Quality Neutral assessment, a requirement for major applications in London.
The assessment demonstrated that air quality (NO2 and PM10) complied with air quality objectives, detailed modelling was not required and that poor air quality was not an obstacle to the proposed development.
