Client – Large Distillery in Ayrshire, Scotland
A noise survey was undertaken at the nearest residential properties to assess the change in noise climate due to installation of new plant and a process tower. Noise source measurements were taken around the new installation and at sensitive properties around the site. The results were used to assess change in noise climate and the company’s continued compliance with IPPC guidelines.
The measured noise levels were compared against noise modelling undertaken prior to the installation of the new plant items. It was found that the measured noise levels were within 0.5 dB of the predicted levels. The short-term measurements undertaken around the plant were used to determine whether they should be designated hearing protection zones.
