Scope – A DMRB screening assessment was carried out to assess the impact of road traffic emissions on future residential receptors proposed as part of the development of 9 residential units. The development did not result in the generation of any traffic but was located between two A roads in an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA). An assessment of demolition and construction dust was also undertaken in accordance with the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) guidance and supplementary planning guidance. The assessment demonstrated that air quality (NO2 and PM10) complied with air quality objectives, detailed modelling was not required and that poor air quality was not an obstacle to the proposed development. As the development fell below the major development threshold an air quality neutral assessment was not required.
