We are delighted to have supported Lightsource BP in its application for planning permission for the South Lowfield Solar Farm near Kirkby Fleetham, North Yorkshire, which was approved at committee on 14th November 2019. The development occupies circa 93 ha of agricultural land and will have an installed capacity of 49.9 MWp. At the planning committee meeting, Hambleton District Councillors voted unanimously in favour of the proposal.
Arcus was responsible for the following:
- Landscape Masterplan and design input;
- Landscape and Visual Assessment and Photomontages;
- Planning Statement;
- Sequential Test Analysis;
- Flood Risk Assessment;
- Archaeology and Heritage Statement;
- Transport Statement; and
- Ecological and Ornithological Assessments.
Key issues the application addressed include flood risk, archaeology and the planned construction vehicle route to site. Arcus also supported Lightsource BP at the public consultation event, and the transport-specific consultation event requested by Kirkby Fleetham with Fencotes Parish Council.
