Seagreen gained consent for the Onshore Transmission Works relating to the Alpha and Bravo Offshore Wind Farms at the end of December 2016. Arcus provided assistance to Seagreen (a joint venture between SSE and Fluor) during the planning process for the onshore cable, substation and associated works required to support the offshore wind farms. Our technical expertise was used to support the application for Planning Permission in Principle, enabling Seagreen to gain consent for the development from Angus Council at Planning Committee.
Arcus has a long standing involvement in the Seagreen project meaning that our technical teams were best placed to update the Environmental Statement to reflect any changes to the baseline and subsequently any changes to the assessment.
Arcus specifically provided expertise in the following:
- Ecology and Ornithology;
- Hydrology and Geology;
- Archaeology and Cultural Heritage;
- Access and Traffic;
- Air Quality; and
- Socio Economics.
The decision to grant consent for this development by the Angus Council Planning Committee is a fantastic result and we wish Seagreen well with the future development of its projects.
