Senior Ecologist

South East England

Arcus has an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Ecologist with extensive ecological experience and an excellent working knowledge of ecological guidance, legislation and policy.  The successful candidate will support the Ecology Team with client-facing work on high profile development projects.

The Role:

  • Plan, co-ordinate and manage ecology surveys;
  • Conduct Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitats Regulation Appraisal and Appropriate Assessments;
  • Provide field and office support to the Ecology Team;
  • Provide advice to clients on development and construction projects; and
  • Manage projects to programme and budget.

Skills & Experience:

  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management;
  • Ecological Impact Assessment report writing;
  • Client relationship management;
  • Project and team management; and
  • Protected Species Licence holder having held Development licences in your own name.

Offshore EIA Consents Manager

UK

Arcus is recruiting for a talented Offshore EIA Consents Manager to join our Offshore Development Team. Working closely with the Managing Director, the successful candidate will build on an established client base in both existing and new sectors.

The Role:

  • Manage complex multidisciplinary EIA Projects;
  • Manage EIA delivery and provide specialist support in HRA process;
  • Support relevant offshore and onshore work packages;
  • Support Head of Development in developing the business and winning work; and

The Role:

  • Support multidisciplinary projects coordinating complex offshore ornithology surveys;
  • Undertake EIAs and provide specialist support in HRA process;
  • Develop and support relevant onshore ornithological work packages;

The Role:

Glasgow

Arcus is recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic Consultant Ornithologist to join our Ecology & Ornithology Team in Glasgow. The  successful candidate will have strong background in ornithology, and be looking to develop their skills in the renewable energy sector.

The Role:

  • Carrying out/scheduling ornithology field surveys;
  • Supporting senior ornithologists and other team members;
  • Collecting, managing and analysing ornithology survey data, including use of GIS;
  • Carrying out desk studies and reporting, including EIA Report writing; and
  • Engaging with project managers, stakeholders and clients.

Skills & Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree in ecology/zoology or a related field;
  • Experience in carrying out/analysing bird surveys e.g. breeding bird surveys;
  • An understanding of relevant species survey guidance and legislation;

UK

The Role:

  • Managing heritage assessments to include reporting and fieldwork;
  • Working closely with the team leader to identify new business opportunities;

Arcus has an exciting opportunity for a talented Air Quality Consultant to join our Environment Team in York.  This position is well suited to someone who is looking to develop a career in air quality consultancy, working on a wide range of projects across all sectors.

The Role:

  • Helping deliver Air Quality Assessments;
  • Preparing reports including Environmental Statement chapters and technical reports;
  • Air dispersion modelling and assessment; and

The Role:
