Fair Isle Project Wins at Scottish Green Energy Awards

The Fair Isle Community Wind Project won the Judges Award at the recent Scottish Green Energy Awards.  Arcus was responsible for environmental and consenting work on the project, which included two separate planning applications: the first for three wind turbines, and the second for grid infrastructure.  After being consented by Shetland Islands Council, Arcus continued to act as Technical Advisor throughout the pre-construction and construction phases.  Tomos Ap Tomos, Arcus Lead Technical Advisor for the project, said: “We are delighted to see Fair Isle win the Judges Award. The project was challenging due to its remoteness and unique environmental sensitivities, but all stakeholders recognised the importance of this project to the local community’’.
